SK hynix announced on April 26 that it has received the Corporate Innovation Award at the 2026 IEEE Honors Ceremony held in New York on April 24 (local time).
The award is presented by IEEE, one of the world’s most prestigious professional organizations dedicated to advancing technology for humanity. With a history spanning more than a century, the IEEE Awards recognize outstanding achievements across three categories: medals, technical field awards, and recognitions.
The Corporate Innovation Award, part of the recognitions category, has been granted since 1986 to companies that have made significant contributions to industry and society through technological innovation. This marks the first time SK hynix has received the honor.
According to the company, the recognition reflects its success in mass-producing all generations of high-bandwidth memory (HBM) and contributing to the expansion of the global AI computing ecosystem. SK hynix emphasized its role in delivering advanced memory solutions that help overcome performance limitations in AI platforms, positioning itself as a trusted partner in the global AI market.
The award also acknowledges the company’s leadership in driving the adoption of HBM technologies and proactively addressing customer demand with cutting-edge solutions. Industry observers note that SK hynix’s continued efforts to strengthen partnerships with major U.S. tech companies in AI infrastructure have also supported this achievement.
These efforts align with the long-term strategy promoted by 최태원, who has emphasized securing technological competitiveness and expanding global collaboration.
At the ceremony, Chief Development Officer Ahn Hyun attended as the company’s representative and accepted the award. He stated that it was an honor to receive the recognition on behalf of SK hynix employees who have continuously pushed technological boundaries. He added that the company will continue to work closely with global customers and partners to create value and lead innovation in the AI era.
