RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA — Recently, Saudi Arabia has completed what it described as its first end-to-end tokenized property title deed transfer using droppRWA’s “sovereign-grade” market infrastructure.
According to the announcement, the transaction integrated the Kingdom’s Real Estate Registry (RER) with droppRWA’s blockchain-based transaction layer, with registry and compliance rules applied directly within the settlement process. The parties said this approach reduced settlement time from days to seconds by enabling simultaneous delivery-versus-payment (DvP) settlement.
The transaction was executed between the National Housing Company (NHC) and the Real Estate Development Fund (REDF). The release said a digital token representing the property title deed was linked to the RER’s official registry, alongside a separate token representing transferable ownership interest. Transfer logic and compliance requirements were encoded into the transaction flow.
Majed bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, Minister of Municipal Rural Affairs and Housing, said the transaction aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 and the government’s broader push to integrate digital technologies across real estate planning and delivery. He added that linking transactions directly to official records could support participation, foreign investment confidence, liquidity, development financing, and PropTech innovation.
Faisal Al-Monai, CEO of droppRWA, said the infrastructure used for the transaction—including token standards, settlement rails, issuance frameworks, compliance logic, and a DvP mechanism—was provided through droppRWA’s platform. He said the goal is to embed enforceability at the registry level rather than using tokenization as a “wrapper” around existing processes.
The announcement positioned the project as a step toward expanding tokenized real estate settlement across Saudi Arabia’s real estate pipeline, including designated investment zones, subject to broader rollout plans.
