NCSoft has achieved the highest possible AAA rating in the 2026 Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) assessment conducted by global index provider MSCI, marking a significant milestone in the company’s sustainability efforts.
The company had maintained an AA rating—the highest among Korean game developers—since 2022, and has now been upgraded to AAA. The improvement reflects stronger performance in areas such as transparent disclosure of human capital data, reporting on greenhouse gas emission efficiency, executive-level oversight of ethical issues, and the establishment of anti-corruption policies.
MSCI evaluates publicly listed companies worldwide on key ESG factors, assigning ratings on a seven-tier scale from AAA to CCC. The ratings are widely used by global institutional investors and asset managers to assess corporate sustainability and investment risk.
In addition to MSCI recognition, NCSoft was also named both an “Industry Leader” and “Regional Leader” in the 2026 ESG Risk Ratings by Sustainalytics, becoming the only Korean game company to receive both distinctions. Sustainalytics grants these badges annually to companies with the lowest ESG risk scores across global, industry, and regional categories.
Domestically, NCSoft has also demonstrated consistent ESG performance. The company has maintained an overall A rating for five consecutive years in evaluations by the Korea ESG Standards Institute (KCGS), again standing as the only game developer in Korea to do so.
