London, November 26, 2025 — Zodia Custody, the institution-first digital asset custodian backed by Standard Chartered, Northern Trust, SBI Holdings, National Australia Bank, and Emirates NBD, has announced a major expansion of its partnership with Deribit by Coinbase, the world’s largest digital asset options exchange. Deribit now offers fully automated, rulebook-governed off-exchange settlement through the Zodia Interchange network, introducing a new level of performance, predictability, and transparency for institutional participants.

The enhanced integration replaces previously manual settlement workflows with an end-to-end automated process governed by the Interchange Rulebook and powered by an on-chain settlement engine. This system enforces delivery-versus-payment logic, ensuring asset transfers occur only when both sides of the transaction meet predefined settlement conditions. The result is significantly reduced settlement risk, auditable transparency, and improved operational efficiency.

Institutions using Deribit with Zodia Custody can now trade crypto derivatives at scale while retaining full control of their assets. Settlement occurs in netted intraday batches, with updated balances automatically reflected in the client’s designated wallet after each cycle. Gas fees are handled automatically, and all client assets remain in Zodia Custody’s cold, air-gapped, fully segregated environment until the precise moment of settlement. Trading vaults are separated per venue and per client, with all movements verifiable on-chain.

“Interchange was designed to give institutions the confidence to trade and deploy capital without giving up custody,” said Anoosh Arevshatian, Chief Product Officer at Zodia Custody. “This expanded partnership with Deribit removes the friction and complexity that have historically limited institutional involvement in crypto derivatives.”

“This evolution of our work with Zodia Custody marks another important step in providing clients automated, secure settlement while maintaining the liquidity and trading experience Deribit is known for,” added Jean-David Péquignot, Chief Commercial Officer of Deribit by Coinbase.

The partnership expansion underscores Zodia Custody’s commitment to building institutional-grade settlement infrastructure for digital asset markets. Zodia Custody and Deribit plan to extend their collaboration further to deliver additional services that strengthen security, transparency, and operational efficiency for institutional traders.
