SK Telecom announced on January 14 that it has applied its next-generation in-vehicle AI agent, A.Dot Auto, to the new Filante model from Renault Korea.
A.Dot Auto is an intelligent AI agent that goes beyond simple voice command execution, analyzing a driver’s driving habits alongside real-time road and vehicle conditions to support contextual decision-making. Embedded in the vehicle’s in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) system, the agent is designed to allow drivers to access AI-powered functions while driving without complex manual操作.
The service enables voice control of major infotainment features, including phone calls, news briefings, navigation via T map, and music streaming on FLO. It also extends voice control to core vehicle functions such as climate control, air quality management, and window operation. A key feature is the use of SK Telecom’s Korean-optimized large language model, A.X 4.0, which enhances natural conversational interaction and contextual understanding.
For example, when a driver enters the vehicle during a typical commute time, A.Dot Auto can suggest the office as the destination based on past driving data. If fine dust levels are high while windows are open, the system can recommend closing them, offering context-aware assistance tailored to driving conditions.
A.Dot Auto is also linked with the A.Dot mobile application, enabling a unified AI experience across the vehicle and smartphone. The system supports personalized services, such as destination suggestions based on schedule information registered in the mobile app.
SK Telecom said it plans to expand A.Dot Auto beyond the Filante to additional vehicle models and automakers. Depending on the needs of each manufacturer, the service may be offered in various forms, including on-device AI solutions. The company added that it will continue to enhance the platform so more drivers can experience AI-driven convenience while on the road.
“With A.Dot Auto, we have taken the in-vehicle AI agent experience to the next level,” said Ji-hoon Kim, head of the A.Dot business at SK Telecom. “Looking ahead, we aim to deliver differentiated AI agent experiences as a ‘national representative AI,’ not only in vehicles but across a wide range of user touchpoints.”
