CJ Olive Young is accelerating its global expansion by bringing Korean beauty brands to more international consumers through a partnership with Sephora, extending its presence beyond the United States into Southeast Asia and Hong Kong.

The South Korean beauty retailer announced on October 12 that its curated retail concept, ‘OLIVE YOUNG K-Beauty Edit,’ had launched at selected Sephora stores and online platforms in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Hong Kong.

The latest rollout covers 48 physical stores, including 18 in Malaysia, nine in Singapore, 13 in Thailand and eight in Hong Kong. Each market features a selection of 12 to 17 Korean beauty brands, with up to approximately 120 products available.

The expansion follows a strategic partnership signed between Olive Young and Sephora in January. Under the collaboration, Olive Young leverages its expertise in identifying promising Korean beauty brands and curating products, while Sephora provides access to its established international retail network.

The strategy is designed to connect emerging K-beauty brands with overseas consumers more efficiently, complementing Olive Young's own retail operations and global online platform.

The partnership has already shown encouraging results in the United States, where the K-Beauty Edit concept was introduced at Sephora in August. By the end of September, average daily sales of participating brands, including Rejuran, Arencia and Torriden, had doubled compared with August.

Building on this momentum, Olive Young is now expanding its reach across Asian markets, where demand for Korean skincare and beauty products continues to create opportunities for international growth.

For its Southeast Asian expansion, Olive Young has tailored its product assortment to regional conditions, including hot and humid weather and strong ultraviolet exposure.

The lineup emphasizes cleansing products, serums and creams from brands such as Dr. Althea, Manyo, Bioheal BOH and Beplain. The selection reflects skincare needs associated with hydration, skin-barrier care and daily protection in tropical climates.

To mark the launch, Olive Young is also hosting a pop-up event at ION Orchard, a premium shopping mall in Singapore, through October 14.

Visitors can receive skin analysis services and beauty samples while exploring featured brands organized around four skincare themes: slow aging, skin-barrier care, pore and blemish management, and hydration.

Through this localized approach, Olive Young aims to offer more than a general selection of Korean cosmetics, presenting products based on consumer preferences and market-specific skincare needs.

Olive Young plans to continue expanding the K-Beauty Edit concept through Sephora's international retail network. In 2027, the company intends to introduce the concept to additional Sephora stores in Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom and the Middle East.

The expansion is expected to create additional distribution opportunities for Korean beauty companies seeking to enter major overseas retail channels. It also allows Olive Young to apply its product-curation expertise and consumer trend analysis to markets beyond its direct retail footprint.

An Olive Young representative said the company was working to broaden consumer access to K-beauty both through its own presence in the United States and through its partnership with Sephora.

The representative added that Olive Young would continue using market-specific consumer data and trend insights to curate products and expand the global customer base for Korean beauty brands.

As K-beauty gains wider international exposure, the company's dual strategy of direct market entry and partnerships with established global retailers is emerging as a key part of its efforts to strengthen the worldwide distribution of Korean beauty products.
