LS Electric is ramping up recruitment and talent development as a core strategy to secure leadership in the global power industry, which is entering a structural “supercycle” driven by surging infrastructure investment.
The company has set a target to hire new employees equivalent to more than 10% of its office workforce annually. The move aligns with Chairman Koo Ja-kyun’s “people-first management” philosophy, under which LS Electric plans to steadily expand hiring while enhancing its compensation system to remain competitive.
LS Electric has maintained a structured open recruitment system since 2006, building a stable talent pipeline and continuously attracting young and promising candidates. Since 2023, the company has also introduced a global internship program linked to full-time employment. The program selects candidates with strong language skills, provides hands-on experience with products and business operations, and places them in overseas organizations, ultimately leading to full-time positions.
To strengthen research and development capabilities, LS Electric conducts rolling recruitment throughout the year and operates industry-academia scholarship and internship programs to secure top-tier research talent early. Beginning in 2024, the company also introduced field-based internship programs in collaboration with universities near its business sites, further reinforcing industry-academia cooperation.
The company has also made notable progress in employment stability. Last year, LS Electric converted all non-regular workers into full-time employees, drawing attention across the industry for creating a more stable working environment.
In addition, LS Electric is expanding inclusive hiring initiatives as part of its social responsibility efforts. Through programs such as “Green Voice” and “Green Canvas,” the company supports the independence of artists with disabilities in the cultural and arts sectors. It also operates a “Health Keeper” program, employing visually impaired massage therapists to enhance employee welfare. Recruitment programs for veterans and individuals with national service backgrounds are also being actively maintained.
This talent strategy reflects LS Electric’s belief that people are the key differentiator in a rapidly evolving power industry. Chairman Koo has consistently emphasized that securing top talent is essential to strengthening future competitiveness amid accelerating changes in the power sector.
Global investment in power infrastructure is rising sharply, driven by the expansion of data centers, the growth of renewable energy, and the replacement of aging power grids. In particular, expanding opportunities in overseas markets such as North America are increasing the importance of securing globally capable talent.
An LS Electric official stated that as the power infrastructure market enters a phase of structural growth, global business opportunities are expanding rapidly, adding that the company aims to strengthen its technological capabilities, business execution, and production competitiveness through proactive talent acquisition, and ultimately position itself as a leader in the future power industry.
