SEOUL — Feb. 22, 2026 — Samsung Electronics said it is expanding Galaxy AI to support what it described as a more open, integrated “multi-agent” approach, aimed at letting users choose among different AI assistants for different tasks.
Samsung said Galaxy AI is designed to operate at the system level, with deeper connections across the operating system rather than being limited to individual apps. The company said this architecture is intended to reduce the need for users to switch between apps or repeat commands by enabling more context-aware interactions across everyday functions.
As part of the expansion, Samsung said it will introduce Perplexity as an additional AI agent on upcoming flagship Galaxy devices. Users will be able to access Perplexity through a dedicated wake phrase, “Hey Plex,” or through quick-access controls such as pressing and holding the side button, Samsung said.
Samsung said Perplexity will be embedded across select Samsung apps, including Notes, Clock, Gallery, Reminder and Calendar, and will also integrate with certain third-party apps. The company said the goal is to support multi-step workflows across apps and reduce manual task switching.
“We’ve been committed to building an open and inclusive integrated AI ecosystem that gives users more choice, flexibility and control,” said Won-Joon Choi, President and COO and Head of the R&D Office for Samsung’s Mobile eXperience (MX) Business. Samsung described Galaxy AI as an “orchestrator” intended to coordinate multiple AI agents into a single experience.
Samsung said it plans to share additional details later on supported devices and specific user experiences.
