Hyundai Card announced on Thursday that all tickets for Hyundai Card Super Concert 28 featuring The Weeknd sold out shortly after sales opened, highlighting the Canadian superstar’s immense popularity among Korean fans.
The concert marks the return of Hyundai Card’s flagship Super Concert series after a three-year hiatus. Anticipation had been exceptionally high since the announcement that The Weeknd would revisit Korea after his previous appearance in 2018 through Hyundai Card’s Culture Project program. Since then, the artist has further cemented his status as one of the world’s biggest pop stars.
Ticket sales were conducted in two phases: an exclusive presale for Hyundai Card members and a general public sale. The presale, which began at noon on May 20, sold out in just 40 minutes. The general sale, launched at noon on May 21, also saw overwhelming demand, with every seat snapped up within 35 minutes.
According to Hyundai Card, peak simultaneous traffic approached 1.3 million users, underscoring The Weeknd’s remarkable ticket-selling power and global appeal.
The highly anticipated concerts are scheduled to take place on October 7 and 8 at Goyang Stadium, one of South Korea’s largest outdoor concert venues. Fans can expect a large-scale production featuring the artist’s chart-topping hits and signature visual performances.
Hyundai Card’s Super Concert series has been widely recognized as a pioneering force in Korea’s live entertainment industry. Since its launch in 2007, the platform has brought numerous world-renowned artists to the country, including Beyoncé, Paul McCartney, Coldplay, and Bruno Mars.
A Hyundai Card spokesperson said the company is preparing a distinctive concert experience worthy of the strong response from fans and aims to deliver the premium production quality that has become synonymous with the Super Concert brand.
With tickets selling out in record time and fan demand reaching unprecedented levels, The Weeknd’s upcoming Seoul performances are expected to be among the most anticipated live music events in Korea this year.
