Celltrion announced it will participate in the 2026 Congress of the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation (ECCO), taking place from Feb. 18 to 21 (local time) in Stockholm, Sweden, to highlight its clinical capabilities and product competitiveness in autoimmune disease treatment.
Now in its 21st year, ECCO is a leading international conference in the field of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), where healthcare professionals and researchers worldwide share the latest research findings and treatment trends. Celltrion will operate a standalone promotional booth — the only Korean company to do so — and will participate in symposium sessions and poster presentations.
On the opening day, the company will present a post-hoc analysis of its Phase 3 study of Remsima SC (infliximab; marketed in the U.S. as Zymfentra) in patients with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
According to the data, patients who discontinued intravenous (IV) infliximab therapy and received placebo for at least 16 weeks demonstrated rapid clinical response recovery after switching to subcutaneous (SC) infliximab 240 mg. Efficacy and safety were maintained through 102 weeks of follow-up.
The findings suggest that the SC formulation could serve as a meaningful alternative for IBD patients who experience treatment interruptions, commonly referred to as drug holidays.
During a symposium titled “Improving Patient Care with Subcutaneous Infliximab,” experts will discuss treatment optimization strategies based on real-world clinical data. A “Meet the Expert” session at the booth will cover topics including long-term outcomes after switching from IV to SC formulations, the role of TNF inhibitor combination therapy in IBD, and SC transition strategies based on Nordic real-world data.
Celltrion plans to emphasize the strength of its infliximab-based IBD portfolio. The company is the only manufacturer to commercialize infliximab in three formulations: IV lyophilized, IV high-concentration liquid and SC. The recently approved high-concentration IV liquid formulation is expected to reduce preparation time and ease the workload for healthcare providers.
In addition to Remsima and Remsima SC, Celltrion offers other IBD therapies including Yuflyma and Steqeyma, providing a broad range of treatment options tailored to clinical needs. The company aims to increase prescription preference and translate that into revenue growth.
A Celltrion official said that the company continues to present accumulated prescription evidence at ECCO each year, drawing growing interest from medical professionals. The official added that Celltrion will continue data-driven research and innovative formulation development to strengthen its competitiveness in autoimmune disease treatment.
Celltrion reported record annual sales of KRW 4.1625 trillion last year, with Remsima and Remsima SC (Zymfentra) accounting for approximately 45% of total revenue, or KRW 1.8889 trillion.
