LG Uplus said on February 23 that it will unveil its next-generation AI-powered calling application, ixi-O Pro, at MWC26, scheduled to take place in June in Barcelona, Spain.
The new ixi-O Pro goes beyond basic call logging functions and evolves into a human-centered AI assistant designed to understand users’ communication patterns and deliver personalized information. The company said the service aims to provide customers with greater convenience and enhanced security.
ixi-O Pro operates as an AI-based call agent that analyzes a wide range of everyday data, including calls, text messages and schedules, to prioritize context-relevant information. Unlike the existing ixi-O service, which responded primarily to user requests, ixi-O Pro is designed to interpret conversational context and relationships, proactively offering useful insights and reminders.
For example, without being explicitly prompted, the app can automatically organize and notify users of schedules or tasks mentioned in previous calls. During conversations, it can also check and provide real-time information that users may need, helping facilitate smoother and more efficient communication.
At MWC26, LG Uplus plans to demonstrate how ixi-O Pro expands beyond smartphones into a voice-based “super agent” capable of connecting with users across homes, offices, vehicles and robots. The company said the goal is to create an AI assistant that supports customers anytime and anywhere, regardless of device or location.
Alongside the AI assistant, LG Uplus will introduce an advanced security system focused on customer protection. In partnership with KB Kookmin Bank, the company has developed a real-time voice phishing response system that integrates telecommunications and financial services.
The system detects suspicious voice phishing patterns, malicious app installations and access to harmful URLs in real time. Relevant risk information is shared with KB Kookmin Bank, enabling intervention at the financial transaction stage. Based on this data, the bank can use its internal monitoring system to identify abnormal transactions and, if necessary, take proactive protective measures such as temporarily freezing accounts.
LG Uplus said ixi-O Pro is evolving into a hyper-personalized AI assistant capable of understanding and safeguarding users’ daily data. Through its showcase at MWC26, the company plans to position its human-centered AI technology as a next-generation service that delivers both convenience and safety.
Choi Yoon-ho, Senior Vice President and Head of the AI Business Group at LG Uplus, said the service is advancing beyond simple data processing to become a proactive assistant that understands user context. He added that the new features and financial collaboration to be introduced at MWC26 will set a new benchmark for secure and trustworthy AI services.
