LG Innotek is expanding its flagship corporate social responsibility (CSR) program, “Eye Dream Up,” to Vietnam in partnership with global humanitarian organization World Vision.

The company announced on April 3 that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with World Vision at the NGO’s headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, to launch the initiative in Vietnam. First introduced last year, the “Eye Dream Up” program combines the meanings of “eye” and “kids,” reflecting LG Innotek’s expertise in optical technologies such as camera modules used in smartphones, autonomous vehicles, and robotics.

The program focuses on preventing vision loss among children and adolescents while also offering educational initiatives related to materials and components through its “Junior Sonamu Classroom.” To date, approximately 400 children in Korea have received treatment and surgical support for eye diseases, while more than 18,000 students have participated in the educational program.

With this new agreement, LG Innotek and World Vision plan to expand these efforts overseas, starting in Hai Phong, Vietnam—one of LG Innotek’s key production bases. The initiative will provide eye health support for children and adolescents, along with the establishment of school counseling facilities.

Specifically, eye examinations will be conducted at eight elementary and middle schools in Ngo Quyen District, Hai Phong. Students in need will receive medical treatment, including surgeries and pharmaceutical support. In addition, psychological counseling rooms equipped with necessary tools and educational materials will be set up in four schools to support students’ mental well-being.

LG Innotek plans to gradually expand the “Eye Dream Up” program to other regions with major global production bases, including Mexico.

Cho Baek-soo, Head of Corporate Support at LG Innotek, said the company hopes children will regain healthy vision and prepare for the future in a better educational environment. He added that LG Innotek will continue to carry out consistent and meaningful CSR activities going forward.
