LS Eco Energy is emerging as a key player in Vietnam’s rapidly expanding power infrastructure market, driven by rising electricity demand and large-scale urban development projects.
According to industry sources on April 22, the company’s Vietnamese subsidiary, LS-VINA, recently supplied extra-high-voltage cables for a major new city development project in Hai Phong. The project, which combines residential, commercial, and tourism functions, is considered a representative case of concentrated power demand in newly developed urban areas.
Market observers view the supply deal as more than a single project win, interpreting it as a sign of LS Eco Energy’s growing role in Vietnam’s broader power grid expansion. Extra-high-voltage cables are critical components that directly affect transmission efficiency and system stability, making them a high-barrier segment with limited qualified suppliers.
LS-VINA is estimated to hold approximately 80% market share in Vietnam’s extra-high-voltage cable sector. With only a small number of companies capable of producing such cables locally, the firm’s combination of technical expertise, production capacity, and delivery capability has translated into strong market dominance.
The company’s growth is closely tied to Vietnam’s structural increase in power demand. Rapid urbanization, expansion of industrial zones, and government-led investments in transmission infrastructure are all contributing to sustained demand. In addition, emerging demand from data centers and digital infrastructure is further boosting the need for high-voltage and extra-high-voltage cable solutions.
This trend is also reflected in LS Eco Energy’s financial performance. The company recently reported strong quarterly growth in both revenue and operating profit, with the extra-high-voltage cable segment playing a leading role. Increased investments in power grids and the expansion of data center infrastructure have been identified as key growth drivers.
An LS Eco Energy official noted that the combination of urban development and infrastructure investment is rapidly expanding the company’s long-term growth base in Vietnam. The company also plans to leverage its experience and technical capabilities to expand into global markets.
As part of this strategy, LS-VINA has recently secured international certification for 230kV-class extra-high-voltage cables, laying the groundwork for potential entry into the North American market. Industry experts believe that the company’s track record in Southeast Asia could serve as a valuable reference point for further global expansion.
Experts increasingly view extra-high-voltage cables not just as components, but as core assets in modern energy infrastructure. As power grids become more advanced and energy transition accelerates, the importance of efficient and stable transmission systems continues to grow.
“Companies that have already secured a strong position in local markets are likely to benefit from long-term structural growth,” said an industry source, noting that demand for high-voltage infrastructure will continue to rise alongside increasing electricity consumption.
LS Eco Energy’s strategy reflects a dual-track approach: strengthening its leadership in Southeast Asia while preparing for expansion into global power infrastructure markets. If current demand trends persist, the company is expected to sustain its growth trajectory in the coming years.
