JINRO continues to cement its position as a global powerhouse in the spirits industry, maintaining an unrivaled sales record for a quarter of a century. Despite intensifying competition in the global alcoholic beverage market, the brand has secured the title of the world's best-selling spirit for 25 consecutive years, reinforcing its role in popularizing Korean soju worldwide.
According to HiteJinro, its flagship export soju brand JINRO ranked No. 1 in the World's Best-Selling Spirits Brands report published by British beverage industry magazine Drinks International, marking its 25th straight year at the top.
The report showed that JINRO sold 94.5 million nine-liter cases worldwide last year. The figure surpassed sales of many globally recognized spirits brands and even exceeded the total sales volume of some entire liquor categories.
Industry observers say the achievement reflects more than just strong sales performance. It highlights the growing recognition of soju as a distinct category in the global spirits market. Since first claiming the top spot in 2001, JINRO has consistently maintained its leadership position without interruption.
HiteJinro has been accelerating its international expansion efforts in recent years. Since unveiling its “Global Popularization of JINRO” vision in 2025, the company has strengthened localized marketing strategies tailored to consumer preferences and drinking cultures in individual markets.
The company has focused on expanding consumer engagement through digital and social media marketing, sports sponsorships, participation in major music festivals, and broader distribution networks. Its goal is not only to export Korean soju but also to establish it as an everyday alcoholic beverage enjoyed by consumers around the world.
Industry analysts note that global interest in Korean food and culture, fueled by the continued popularity of K-content, has contributed to rising demand for soju. In key markets such as the United States, Europe, and Southeast Asia, soju is increasingly being embraced alongside Korean cuisine, helping elevate JINRO's brand value internationally.
Building on its long-standing success, HiteJinro plans to further expand its global footprint and strengthen awareness of soju as a mainstream spirits category worldwide.
