SK Hynix records the largest increase in brand value among Korean technology brands
Samsung retains its position in the top 10 with a brand value of USD97.4 billion
Coupang achieves a 5% increase in Brand Strength Index (BSI)
South Korea’s five technology brands included in Brand Finance’s Technology 100 2026 ranking recorded a combined brand value of $135.3 billion, up 8% from a year earlier, according to the consultancy’s latest journal. Brand Finance said this aggregate value places South Korea third globally in the Technology 100 universe, behind the United States and China.
Samsung remained South Korea’s largest technology brand in the list, with brand value rising 9% year-on-year to $97.4 billion. Brand Finance noted that Samsung continues to be the only South Korean brand in the global top 10 of the Technology 100 ranking.
SK hynix ranked 28th globally, with brand value increasing 15% to $15.8 billion. Brand Finance attributed the increase to revenue performance and demand tied to AI-related memory solutions, based on its published summary for the Technology 100 2026 journal.
Coupang’s brand value rose 10% to $8.8 billion, and Brand Finance reported it was the only South Korean technology brand in the Technology 100 to post an improvement in its Brand Strength Index (BSI) score, rising from 72.0/100 in 2025 to 75.8/100 in 2026. The consultancy linked the BSI increase to ongoing investments intended to strengthen delivery reliability and customer experience in South Korea’s e-commerce market.
Two other South Korean brands were also listed in the Technology 100 2026 journal: LG ranked 44th with brand value declining 9% to $9.6 billion, while Naver ranked 95th with brand value up 11% to $3.7 billion.
In its global overview, Brand Finance reported that the total brand value of the world’s top 100 technology brands reached $3.7 trillion in 2026. In the same release series, Brand Finance said Apple, Microsoft, and Google remained the three most valuable technology brands, and it identified NVIDIA as the fastest-growing technology brand in the 2026 ranking.
