The company said on Oct. 12 that its board of directors had approved a plan to pursue the name change, reflecting its ambition to build on nearly six decades of pharmaceutical expertise while developing new growth opportunities in global markets.
Dongkook Pharmaceutical has primarily focused on the domestic pharmaceutical market. Under its new strategic direction, the company aims to broaden its business scope to encompass prevention, treatment, health and beauty, positioning itself as a science-based health and beauty company with a stronger international orientation.
The proposed name combines the company’s established identity with its ambitions for future growth. “DK” represents the company’s 58-year history, scientific credibility and enduring corporate foundation, while “Centellian” reflects its commitment to creating new, forward-looking value through accumulated expertise.
The company said the change is intended to communicate its broader business vision and strengthen its connection with customers around the world.
