LS ELECTRIC is accelerating its push into the North American power distribution market by leveraging direct current (DC) power equipment solutions, in response to growing demand driven by artificial intelligence (AI) data centers.

The company announced that it will participate in DISTRIBUTECH 2026, taking place from February 3 to 5 (local time) at the San Diego Convention Center in the United States.

DISTRIBUTECH is North America’s largest exhibition dedicated to power transmission and distribution, drawing around 700 global energy and power companies, including ABB, Siemens, and GE Vernova. Industry professionals from 94 countries are expected to attend.

At the exhibition, LS ELECTRIC will present a range of solutions tailored to the North American market, including DC power equipment optimized for AI data centers, UL-certified distribution solutions, and ultra-high-voltage transformers. The company plans to place particular emphasis on DC power systems and energy management platforms designed for next-generation data center power infrastructure.

As data centers and large-scale industrial facilities seek to improve efficiency by reducing power conversion stages, DC distribution systems are gaining attention as an alternative to conventional architectures. In response, LS ELECTRIC has designed its exhibition space to showcase its core DC power equipment portfolio that forms the foundation of a DC distribution ecosystem. The company will also introduce its “DC Factory” at its Cheonan facility, recognized as the world’s first manufacturing site to apply a DC distribution system in actual production operations.

LS ELECTRIC will also highlight its UL-certified distribution panels, a key requirement for entry into the North American market. The company began pursuing UL certification in 2014, becoming the first heavy electrical equipment manufacturer in Korea to do so. To date, it has obtained approximately 300 UL certifications, the highest number among Korean peers.

In addition, LS ELECTRIC will display a full lineup of transformers, ranging from ultra-high-voltage units to medium- and low-voltage distribution transformers, reinforcing its positioning as a total solution provider across the entire power grid.

The company reported that its global orders related to data centers exceeded KRW 1 trillion last year. LS ELECTRIC has secured successive contracts in North America for data center power infrastructure projects with major technology companies, as well as distribution systems linked to microgrids, strengthening its presence as a specialized provider of data center power solutions in the region.

Through this exhibition, LS ELECTRIC aims to further enhance its visibility in the North American distribution market by showcasing a broad range of strategic products. As demand for ultra-high-voltage transformers increases amid aging transmission infrastructure, growth is also expected in the larger distribution market, which is projected to be approximately six times the size of the ultra-high-voltage transformer market in North America.

An LS ELECTRIC official said the company plans to attract potential customers by presenting high-efficiency, DC-based distribution systems in a North American market where demand for advanced power solutions is expanding rapidly. The official added that the exhibition will serve as an opportunity to demonstrate both delivery competitiveness and technological reliability, laying the groundwork for further business expansion.
