New York, November 4, 2025 — Aera Technology unveiled findings from a new IDC study at AeraHUB 25 in New York, highlighting a major shift in how enterprises are using AI to transform decision-making. According to the report, 88% of global enterprises have either implemented or plan to pilot decision intelligence (DI) initiatives, with AI agents playing a growing role in accelerating speed, scale, and business impact.

The research indicates that organizations are moving beyond using AI for analytics to embedding intelligence directly into decision workflows — bridging the gap between insight and execution. The study suggests that decision intelligence is becoming a core component of enterprise operations as rising costs and inefficiencies push companies to improve agility and responsiveness.

Fred Laluyaux, Co-Founder and CEO of Aera Technology, described this as “a clear inflection point” in enterprise transformation. “The technology is proven, customers are scaling it, and the ecosystem is ready. Decision intelligence is rapidly becoming the new operating model for the AI-powered enterprise,” he said.

Key Findings from the IDC Study

Widespread adoption: Nearly nine in ten enterprises (88%) have implemented or plan to test DI initiatives, and more than 70% of leading organizations have already deployed DI across one or more functions.

AI integration accelerating: 83% of enterprises are actively deploying AI to enhance decision-making speed, quality, and accountability.

AI agents gaining traction: 40% of respondents view AI agents as critical enablers of decision intelligence. Within the next 18–24 months, over a quarter expect AI agents to make routine decisions, while nearly 20% foresee agents managing most operational decisions under human oversight.

Operational drivers: More than 40% of organizations cite rising costs and inefficiencies as major motivators for DI adoption. IDC notes that connecting the full decision loop — from data to action — enhances resilience, planning cadence, and responsiveness.

Measurable business impact: Leaders that have adopted DI report higher customer satisfaction (79%) compared to those with less connected processes (61%). Fully integrated decision systems yield greater consistency, speed, and measurable business value.

AI Agents as a New Operating Model

IDC’s Megha Kumar, Research Vice President for Analytics and AI, said decision intelligence has become a strategic imperative in increasingly dynamic business environments. “Enterprises that embrace AI-powered decision intelligence are achieving greater agility, innovation, and competitive advantage,” Kumar said. “The next step requires unifying decision workflows, fostering data and AI literacy, and redefining collaboration between humans and AI agents.”

The IDC white paper, Accelerating Enterprise Decision Intelligence with AI Agents, analyzes how organizations are integrating data, analytics, and automation across six competencies — from data acquisition and analysis to decision execution and continuous learning.

Research Scope

The global study was conducted by IDC between June and August 2025, surveying 311 senior executives — including CIOs, CTOs, CDAOs, and functional leaders — across 11 countries and six industries in technology, supply chain, and operations.
