Chung-Ang University (CAU), led by President Sang-gue Park, has successfully hosted the second installment of the 2025 International Metaverse Festival (CIMF), also known as CAU International Metaverse Festival, under the theme "9Meta Fusion: Meta+ ver 2.0."
Organized by the Graduate School of Metaverse Convergence, the event spanned from the 5th to the 7th, taking place both online and offline. Participants included President Sang-gue Park, Dean Chang-jae Lee from the Graduate School of Advanced Imaging Science, Multimedia & Film, and Professor Joon-ki Baek of the Graduate School of Metaverse Convergence, alongside Chung-Ang University students and experts from both Korea and around the world.
The festival showcased a wide range of metaverse-related content and achievements in fields such as imaging science, media art, animation, and film. Additionally, it featured a technology exchange highlighting advanced technologies developed through industry-academia partnerships and a conference with invited experts. Notably, the Metaverse Content Conference, attended virtually by esteemed scholars from Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan, the United States, and Australia, facilitated active academic exchanges on the current and future landscapes shaped by the convergence of artificial intelligence and the arts.
President Sang-gue Park expressed his hopes for the event to serve as a proving ground illustrating the integration of artificial intelligence technology and the arts, as well as a process to explore new opportunities. He further anticipated that the experience gained would offer creative inspiration and serve as a launchpad for new challenges.
As it completes its second year, the Chung-Ang University International Metaverse Festival, sponsored by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute of Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP), is set to be held annually. It aims to establish itself as a premier international event leading the charge in metaverse-based art and technology.
