Samyang Foods announced on December 4 that it has become the first company in the Korean food industry to receive the “USD 900 Million Export Tower” award at the 62nd Trade Day ceremony, held at COEX in Samseong-dong, Gangnam, Seoul.
In addition, the company’s flagship brand “Samyang” received the “Brand Tower” award, further strengthening its position in the global market. Vice Chairman Kim Jung-soo was awarded the Silver Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit in recognition of his contributions to boosting exports and elevating the global status of K-Food.
The Export Tower award is presented to companies with outstanding export performance. Samyang Foods achieved USD 970 million in exports between July 1, 2024 and June 30, 2025. This milestone comes just one year after the company received the USD 700 Million Export Tower, underscoring rapid global expansion. During the same period, the Samyang brand recorded USD 24 million in export performance, earning the Brand Tower award.
Samyang Foods has established itself as a leading global ambassador of K-Food, with its best-selling Buldak Ramen products driving sales growth worldwide. The company has strengthened its overseas business infrastructure by establishing sales subsidiaries and expanding production facilities in key regions, while broadening its brand portfolio with offerings such as “Samyang” and “Tangle.” Samyang Foods now operates in over 100 countries, with overseas sales accounting for approximately 80 percent of its revenue.
Vice Chairman Kim Jung-soo received the Silver Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit for his leadership in global business expansion and the promotion of Korean food culture. Since 2016, he has spearheaded Samyang Foods’ overseas growth, leveraging the viral popularity of the Buldak brand on social media to broaden export markets and distribution networks. This strategy has transformed Samyang Foods into an export-driven enterprise while positioning Buldak as a global megabrand.
“We have consistently strengthened our global capabilities to enhance the competitiveness of K-Food and expand our role in the global market,” said Vice Chairman Kim. “We will continue to introduce Korean food culture to the world with passion and pride.”
