Daewoong Pharmaceutical has expanded the global reach of its premium botulinum toxin Nabota by entering Kuwait, marking its seventh launch in the Middle East and setting a new milestone for a Korean botulinum toxin manufacturer in the region.

The company announced Thursday that it began its first shipments of Nabota to Kuwait in July 2026. With the latest launch, Nabota is now available in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Türkiye, Qatar, Egypt, Bahrain, and Kuwait, establishing the broadest Middle Eastern market presence among Korean botulinum toxin brands.

The expansion reinforces Nabota's position in the premium aesthetics segment across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), a region widely recognized for its strong purchasing power, high disposable income, and rapidly growing demand for aesthetic treatments.

Kuwait is regarded as one of the Middle East's premium botulinum toxin markets, with an estimated market size of approximately KRW 24 billion (about US$17 million). The country is characterized by strong demand for premium products and an active medical marketing environment, making it an attractive destination for global aesthetics companies.

Daewoong plans to use Kuwait as a strategic hub to accelerate its business across the GCC region while strengthening Nabota's brand competitiveness in neighboring markets.

The company is scheduled to officially launch Nabota in Kuwait in October, accompanied by a large-scale launch symposium expected to attract around 200 healthcare professionals, including key opinion leaders (KOLs) from both the public and private sectors. A Korean dermatologist will present clinical experience and treatment techniques using Nabota during the event.

Following the launch, Daewoong intends to expand nationwide sales and marketing activities through local partners while increasing physician engagement via major medical congresses, cadaver workshops, and educational programs. The company also plans to strengthen researcher-led clinical data generation and collaborate with global KOLs to further demonstrate Nabota's efficacy and safety.

Industry observers say the latest expansion reflects Daewoong's strategy of diversifying beyond established markets such as the United States and Europe into fast-growing regions where demand for premium aesthetic procedures continues to increase. The GCC, in particular, is viewed as one of the world's most promising markets for high-end medical aesthetics.

"Entering Kuwait represents an important milestone as Nabota, which has surpassed KRW 1 trillion in cumulative sales, begins its full-scale expansion into the GCC market," said Yoon Joon-soo, Head of the Nabota Business Division at Daewoong Pharmaceutical.
