LG Uplus has unveiled its AI infrastructure platform at an Amazon Web Services (AWS) event, highlighting how it ensures stable operation of AI-driven services through cloud-based architecture and automation.
At the “2026 Modern Agentic Applications Day,” LG Uplus presented its approach to infrastructure automation using generative AI and agent technologies. The company shared its experience transitioning from a traditional on-premises AI development environment to a more flexible hybrid structure integrated with the cloud, enabling seamless connectivity across the entire lifecycle—from model development to real-world service deployment.
A key focus of the platform is eliminating fragmentation between AI development and operations. Previously, processes such as training, evaluation, deployment, and operation were handled separately, leading to inefficiencies and repetitive work during service transitions. LG Uplus has unified these stages into a single workflow, significantly improving overall efficiency.
The company also emphasized maintaining a “model-ready” state, ensuring that AI models are continuously prepared for deployment rather than treated as one-off developments. By integrating data collection, training, evaluation, deployment, and operation into a unified pipeline, the platform allows developers and operators to work within a consistent environment and framework.
To support this, LG Uplus adopted a hybrid infrastructure based on Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS). The company integrated its internal on-premises GPU resources as hybrid nodes within the EKS cluster, while leveraging AWS’s fully managed Kubernetes control plane to reduce infrastructure management burdens. This setup allows the company to focus more on improving platform stability and service quality.
GPU utilization has also been optimized. Moving away from fixed, hardware-based allocation, LG Uplus introduced a flexible resource distribution model that minimizes idle time. This enables more efficient use of GPUs during both AI model training and service delivery.
LG Uplus said the platform is designed not only as a technological advancement but as a foundation for delivering stable, real-world AI services. By reducing the complexity of infrastructure and resource management, the company has created an environment that supports rapid service deployment while continuously improving quality and reliability.
Kwon Ki-deok, head of the AX Engineering Lab at LG Uplus, said the company is strengthening its engineering capabilities across the AI-driven development lifecycle (AI-DLC), covering data collection, model development, deployment, operation, and GPU management. He added that LG Uplus will continue to expand its collaboration with AWS to further enhance service quality and operational stability.
