Nomerra, a Berlin-based fintech startup developing AI-powered software for private market operations, announced in Berlin, Germany, on June 30, 2026 that it has raised $2 million in a pre-seed funding round led by 14Peaks Capital, with participation from Redstone Fintech and individual investors affiliated with KKR and Intapp. The company said the funding will be used to expand its engineering team and support customer growth across Europe and the United States.
The investment comes as private markets continue to expand rapidly. Industry estimates cited by the company project the sector will grow from approximately $13 trillion to more than $30 trillion over the next several years. Despite that growth, many operational processes continue to rely on emails, PDFs, spreadsheets, and disconnected software systems, creating increasing administrative complexity for asset managers and asset servicers.
Nomerra was founded by Johannes Gebendorfer and Jakob Zacherl, both early employees of fund administration platform bunch, where they helped scale the business across Europe. Based on that experience, the founders launched Nomerra to automate operational workflows in private markets using AI.
According to the company, private market operations remain significantly less standardized than those in public markets. Manual data entry across multiple systems, fragmented record-keeping, expanding regulatory requirements, more frequent investor reporting, semi-liquid fund structures, evergreen vehicles, and new asset classes have increased operational workloads. At the same time, firms face growing challenges in recruiting experienced accounting and operations professionals.
Nomerra's platform is designed to automate operational functions, including fund accounting, treasury, and transfer agency. The software integrates with existing enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, banking platforms, email, and document repositories, allowing AI agents to retrieve information, process documents, validate data across multiple sources, and complete workflows according to each firm's internal operating procedures.
Rather than replacing operational teams, the platform is intended to shift employees toward reviewing AI-generated outputs. The system provides audit trails showing how tasks were completed, the data sources used, and the reasoning behind each step.
Commenting on the investment, Johannes Gebendorfer, co-founder and CEO of Nomerra, said the company believes private market operations are approaching a similar transformation to earlier waves of automation in other industries, with AI expected to reduce reliance on manual processing over time.
Edoardo Ermotti, Founding General Partner at 14Peaks Capital, said the investment reflects the firm's view that specialized AI platforms are better suited to complex private market workflows than general-purpose AI tools. He cited the founders' operational experience and industry focus as key factors behind the investment.
Nomerra said it plans to use the new funding to accelerate product development, expand its engineering organization, and support increasing demand from enterprise asset managers and asset servicers in Europe and the United States as firms seek to automate operational processes.
