Hana Bank announced that its multilingual overseas remittance app, Hana EZ, will start offering a “Direct Overseas Remittance” service to Indonesia.
Hana EZ — which supports account opening and remittances in 16 languages without time or location constraints — has gradually expanded its Direct Overseas Remittance coverage to countries with large foreign resident populations such as Thailand, Vietnam, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, and Nepal. The service has now been extended to Indonesia.
The Indonesia Direct Overseas Remittance connects through Indonesia’s local transfer system, BI Fast, enabling direct transfers to 128 local banks including Bank Hana Indonesia without intermediary correspondent banks. The entire process, from sending to receipt, proceeds in real time similar to domestic transfers. Prior to sending, account validity is verified, and customers can track transfer status in real time within the app after remittance.
To commemorate the Indonesia service launch, Hana Bank will run special exchange rate and fee discount promotions through September next year. Indonesian nationals who send direct remittances to Indonesia via the Hana EZ app during the event period will receive a 40% preferential exchange rate and a KRW 2,000 discount on remittance fees. Additionally, recipient bank fees in Indonesia will be discounted by 50% through the end of this year.
A Hana Bank foreign exchange division official said the Indonesia expansion will further increase financial convenience for foreign customers, and pledged that Hana Bank will continue working to provide differentiated financial services and benefits for foreign customers as Korea’s leading foreign exchange-specialized bank.
