A research about the book as an object, as carrier of symbolic meaning and aura, and as an image.

Although the book was the first object undergoing mechanical reproduction, it managed to build and mantain a powerful aura (described by Benjamin as uniqueness and specificity of works of art). From object to image and back is a research about the book as an object, as carrier of symbolic meaning and aura, and as an image. What is the effect of the dematerialization of books on how we perceive them? After exploring these issues a proposal was formulated: a concept and business model for a new bookstore. The renaissance typographic workshop is taken as a reference for an alternative paradigm of production, sale and consumption. You can buy the book here.
