Quando è moda è moda (roughly translatable as When it’s trendy it’s trendy) is a song by Giorgio Gaber that refers to the power of trends to spread and somehow impose behaviours, ideas and styles. In the last ten years the tote bag became a must-have gadget for every brand or event. This tote bag is a way to ironise on our own conformism, on the easiness with which as individual we adopt completely arbitrary trends. There is nothing we can do, when it’s trendy it’s trendy.
