Headquarters of JW Pharmaceutical

JW Pharmaceutical announced on January 20 that it participated in the JPMorgan Healthcare Conference 2026, held in San Francisco from January 12 to 15 local time, where it conducted a series of business development meetings with global pharmaceutical companies.

The JPMorgan Healthcare Conference is one of the world’s largest annual healthcare investment events, bringing together leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, investors, and industry stakeholders to discuss global trends and explore collaboration opportunities.

During the conference, JW Pharmaceutical held multiple one-on-one meetings with overseas pharmaceutical partners, reflecting growing international interest in its research pipeline. Discussions focused on potential licensing and co-development opportunities for key assets, including the hair loss treatment candidate JW0061, the ophthalmic drug JW1601, and a STAT6 inhibitor program targeting inflammatory diseases.

JW0061 is a GFRA1 agonist being developed for indications such as androgenetic alopecia. The candidate recently secured a U.S. patent and has submitted an investigational new drug (IND) application to Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.

JW1601, a histamine H4 receptor antagonist, has undergone a strategic shift toward ophthalmic indications and is currently preparing to enter Phase 2 clinical trials.

The STAT6 inhibitor program is an oral first-in-class candidate aimed at treating type 2 inflammatory diseases, including eosinophilic esophagitis. STAT6 has emerged as a promising target in global drug development, particularly for conditions with limited treatment options. The program was also selected in 2025 as part of Korea’s National New Drug Development Project.

A JW Pharmaceutical official said the conference provided an important platform to discuss practical collaboration opportunities with global pharmaceutical companies, adding that the company plans to further expand its global partnerships based on its accumulated R&D capabilities.
