KT announced on October 14 that it held the first CEO-level meeting in Korea with global AI platform firm Palantir to discuss expanding the Palantir platform across domestic industries based on successful internal deployments.
KT became Palantir’s first “Premium Partner” in Korea in March and has been working with Palantir to leverage KT’s deep understanding of the country’s Advanced Transformation (AX) landscape and its local network. At the meeting, KT CEO Kim Young-seop and Palantir CEO Alex Karp reviewed platform deployment outcomes to date and outlined concrete strategies for broader adoption among Korean companies.
Coinciding with Karp’s visit, KT hosted the second AX Leader Summit, a forum for executives driving AX innovation. Attendees included Woo Ki-hong, Vice Chairman of Korean Air; Kim Yong-beom, Vice Chairman of Meritz Financial Group; Koo Ja-kyun, Chairman of LS Electric; and Lee Joo-tae, CEO of POSCO Holdings.
KT has piloted Palantir Foundry and Palantir AIP (Artificial Intelligence Platform) within select units to build cloud-based work environments. The platforms analyze enterprise data with AI, provide real-time visualizations, and support faster, more informed decision-making. Through the pilots KT said it improved the accuracy of data-driven strategy and internalized the technical and consulting capabilities required to deploy and operate the platforms.
Building on these validated experiences, the two companies plan to introduce integrated service packages enabling Korean clients to securely run Palantir platforms in cloud environments. The offerings are being designed with enhanced security to meet the needs of industries handling sensitive data, such as finance and government.
To boost brand awareness and private-sector engagement, Palantir will operate a popup store in Seoul’s Seongsu-dong from October 14–15, showcasing limited-edition goods including an “Ontology hoodie.” KT is the event’s official sponsor and the country’s sole Premium Partner.
KT CEO Kim Young-seop said the partnership “will become a leading example of AX innovation across Korea’s key industries” and pledged active support for spreading AI- and data-driven decision cultures. Palantir CEO Alex Karp called the partnership “highly meaningful,” describing their cooperation as an important step toward secure, industry-tailored data use in the cloud and committing to continued close collaboration.
