As overseas investments and cross-border residency become increasingly common, wealth management is rapidly evolving beyond domestic markets. Hana Bank is strengthening its global private banking (PB) capabilities by offering integrated wealth management services that encompass overseas financial assets, real estate, taxation, foreign exchange, and cross-border financial planning.
According to the financial industry on July 16, Hana Bank hosted the "2026 Hana Financial Global Money Show" on July 15 at Place1 in Samseong-dong, Seoul. The event marked the third edition of the bank's annual global wealth management seminar.
The seminar was designed to help clients navigate the growing complexity of international asset management amid rising cross-border investment and wealth mobility. It targeted individuals with assets in multiple countries, dual residents, and investors interested in overseas real estate and global financial markets.
Held under the theme "Managing Global Assets as One," the program covered a broad range of topics, including international trusts, foreign exchange management, cross-border taxation, legal advisory services, overseas real estate investment, and outlooks for global equity markets and foreign exchange rates.
Experts from various disciplines delivered presentations based on real-world consulting cases, explaining country-specific tax regulations, wealth transfer strategies, currency risk management, and international investment planning. By using practical examples, the sessions helped attendees better understand increasingly complex global financial systems.
In addition to the seminar, Hana Bank operated one-on-one consulting booths staffed by specialists in taxation, foreign exchange, private banking, and legal services. Participants received personalized advice on overseas asset transfers, inheritance and gift planning, currency exchange, and customized investment portfolio strategies tailored to their individual financial circumstances.
Industry observers note that demand for borderless wealth management is accelerating as not only high-net-worth individuals but also retail investors increasingly allocate assets to U.S. equities, overseas exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and international real estate. The number of clients managing assets across multiple jurisdictions—driven by overseas employment, education, immigration, and international marriages—continues to rise, making global wealth management expertise a key competitive differentiator for financial institutions.
Managing international assets has become increasingly complex due to differing tax systems, inheritance and gift regulations, and foreign exchange rules across jurisdictions. As a result, comprehensive advisory services integrating finance, taxation, and legal expertise are becoming essential for cross-border wealth planning.
Industry analysts believe Hana Bank is leveraging its global network to enhance its wealth management platform, moving beyond the traditional sale of investment products toward a more comprehensive private banking model. Competition among Korean commercial banks to capture the growing global wealth management market is expected to intensify in the coming years.
