Dubai, Jan 12, 2026 — Tesla included more than 115,000 Cybertrucks in recall actions during 2025, according to data compiled from regulatory disclosures filed with the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
An analysis published by Finbold reviewed three separate recall notices submitted by Tesla over the course of the year. Together, the filings indicate that 115,912 Cybertrucks were covered by recall campaigns addressing a combination of hardware and software-related issues. Based on the reported figures, 2025 represented the largest annual recall total for the Cybertruck since the model entered production.
Finbold estimated that the recall volume corresponds to an average of more than 300 vehicles per day or close to 10,000 per month being subject to recall notifications during the year, exceeding the number reported in 2024.
The largest of the three recall actions involved an exterior stainless-steel trim component that could become detached while the vehicle was in motion. Additional campaigns addressed a software issue that caused front parking lights to exceed regulatory brightness limits and a separate issue related to an optional off-road lighting accessory.
The researchers noted that NHTSA recall figures represent the total number of vehicles potentially affected, rather than confirmed defects in every unit. However, they said the data shows that a significant portion of Cybertrucks produced during 2025 fell under at least one recall campaign.
The analysis was based on NHTSA Part 573 recall reports, which manufacturers are legally required to submit when notifying regulators of safety or compliance-related issues. These filings include information on the number of vehicles involved, the nature of the defect, and the proposed remedy.
