Vampir reached No. 2 in Taiwan’s App Store revenue rankings and Top 10 in Japan before wider global expansion
Netmarble has opened global pre-registration for its vampire-themed MMORPG “Vampir” on Aug. 26, expanding the title beyond South Korea and key Asian markets following strong performances in Taiwan and Japan.
Global pre-registration is available through Google Play, Apple’s App Store, the Epic Games Store and the official Vampir website. Netmarble is also offering various rewards for users who complete mobile or PC pre-registration and join the game’s official Discord channel.
Vampir expands globally one year after South Korean launch
Vampir was first released in South Korea on Aug. 26, 2025, and quickly climbed to No. 1 in revenue on both Google Play and Apple’s App Store, according to Netmarble.
The MMORPG reached 200,000 concurrent users and generated $40 million in sales during its first month after launch, establishing the title as one of Netmarble’s notable new MMORPG releases.
Netmarble subsequently expanded Vampir into Asian markets including Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau in 2026.
In Taiwan, the game ranked No. 1 in pre-download popularity and rose to No. 2 in Apple’s App Store revenue rankings just one day after launch. Vampir also reached No. 1 in App Store popularity in Japan and entered the country’s Top 10 highest-grossing rankings.
The results gave Netmarble an early indication that the game could attract players outside its home market before moving toward a broader global rollout.
Vampire theme and dark fantasy setting target global MMORPG players
Vampir differentiates itself from conventional medieval fantasy MMORPGs through a vampire-centered narrative and dark fantasy visual identity.
The game was developed with participation from key developers behind “Lineage 2: Revolution,” one of Netmarble’s best-known MMORPG titles, and is available across both mobile and PC platforms.
The global expansion will test whether Vampir can translate its performance in South Korea, Taiwan and Japan into a broader international player base.
For Netmarble, sustained overseas traction could also strengthen its global MMORPG portfolio as the company seeks to extend the lifecycle of major titles across multiple regions rather than relying primarily on the South Korean market.
With global pre-registration beginning exactly one year after Vampir’s South Korean debut, the title is now entering the next stage of its international expansion.
