Bukwang Pharmaceutical has donated approximately 13,900 boxes of medicines to Dayaw Nuga Hospital in Malawi, marking its second consecutive year of support for the African facility.
The shipment includes treatments for common colds, liver disorders and fungal infections. Specific items and quantities are: 1,500 boxes of Tassenol Cold Syrup; 3,000 boxes each of Coritusal S-Capsules and Coritusal S-Cold Soft Gel Capsules; 2,000 boxes of Tassenol Ibu Soft Gel Capsules (400 mg); 2,000 boxes of Tassenol Tablets (500 mg); 2,000 boxes of Legaron Suspension; and 400 boxes of NailStar nail lacquer, totaling 13,900 boxes.
Dayaw Nuga Hospital, established in 2008 by Koreans, is a 180-bed general hospital that aims to improve Malawi’s underserved healthcare environment and assist low-income patients.
The donation was made through the nonprofit organization EverServant, which supports health and poverty-alleviation projects in Africa and promotes cooperation and goodwill between Korea and African countries.
A Bukwang Pharmaceutical representative said the company is honored to contribute to improving healthcare in Africa and plans to continue providing medicines and engaging in social contribution activities both domestically and abroad.
Last year Bukwang donated 150,000 units of medicines to Dayaw Nuga Hospital, including 100,000 Tassenol 8-hour ER tablets and 50,000 Tassenol 500 mg tablets. The active ingredient in Tassenol, acetaminophen, helps relieve fever, headache, muscle pain and other cold-related symptoms.
