Information visualization of all the donations made by students to the Democrats an Republican campaigns in 2008.

This work is a result of a workshop with Catalogtree. In the past decade individual contributions from American citizens to political campaigns have hugely raised: in 2008 Obama raised more money than Bush and Kerry together in 2004. How did this happen? Barack Obama managed to be very popular among young people.
Naomi Klein’s article on how corporate branding has taken over America analyzes the Obama phenomenon as the most successful XXI century brand. In 2012 American students – people usually without any income – donated the impressive amount of 3 million dollars to Obama and Romney. The booklet/poster shows all these donations over time, visualizing all the relevant information related to them.
